Job summary

Applied Medical is seeking an Automation Design Engineer to design and develop automated equipment for our Amersfoort manufacturing site, coordinating with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams. You will work with US colleagues during startup and stay aligned through project phases.

The role demands a degree in engineering, strong 3D modeling skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and experience in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a highly regulated environment with planning and coordinating machine design automation processes.
• Strong technical and analytical skills with a hands-on approach.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling with SolidWorks or AutoCAD; ERP/SAP/PLM experience preferred.
• Excellent in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Be part of automating and improving our manufacturing processes for medical devices.
• Create SolidWorks models, drawings, and assemblies.
• Provide technical support, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct process capability studies, evaluations, and cost analyses.
• Develop and review engineering documents such as instructions, drawings, and test procedures.
• Investigate new tooling, materials, prototypes, and technologies.
• Research and qualify suppliers/vendors with clear technical requirements.
• Follow training to ensure compliance with safety and quality rules (CE, ISO, etc.).
