Job summary

Grant Thornton Arnhem is hiring an Assistant Audit trainee who is close to finishing a Bachelor's in Economics and Business Economics or a (pre-)Master's in Accounting & Control. You will join a practice team of about 20 colleagues and begin with multiple client projects across industries.

You will audit financial statements, perform interim procedures, and contribute to year-end work while continuing part-time studies for the RA title.

Qualifications

• Almost finished with a Bachelor's in Economics & Business Economics or (pre-)Master's in Accounting & Control.
• Ready to start in audit in February 2024.
• Enthusiastic and ambitious, eager to combine work and studies.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

Job description

Who are you? You are (almost) completing your Bachelor's in Economics and Business Economics or the (pre-)Master's in Accounting & Control, and you aspire to work in audit. Additionally, you wish to pursue part-time studies for the RA title.

What will you do? You will work in audit (audit practice) and collaborate extensively with a team. Alongside your colleagues, you will audit financial statements for various clients.

The Role

Now that you are almost done with your Bachelor's in Economics and Business Economics or (pre-)Master's in Accounting & Control, you aspire to work in audit. As an Assistant Audit at Grant Thornton, you will have the opportunity to continue part-time studies at a university of your choice alongside your work in the audit practice.

In the role of Assistant Audit, you will work within our audit department of approximately 20 colleagues, many of whom have followed a similar trajectory or are still in the midst of their education. You will immediately collaborate with a team on various client projects, serving around 10 to 15 clients across diverse industries throughout the year. Your tasks will vary, including year-end audits in the spring and interim audits, preparatory for year-end audits, in the fall. Your activities, such as audit procedures, financial statement reviews, and analytical procedures, will be guided by your colleagues, often with several years of experience, challenging you with new, more complex responsibilities.

We are seeking someone who is (almost) done with their Bachelor's in Economics and Business Economics or (pre-)Master's in Accounting & Control and is ready to start in audit from February 2024. The candidate should be enthusiastic and ambitious, looking forward to combining work and studies. Additionally, you should be:

• Strong in teamwork;
• Communicatively skilled, willing to ask questions and be critical;
• Proficient in both Dutch and English;
• Curious and eager to learn. We don't expect you to know everything, but we do expect a willingness to learn;
