Job summary

TenneT zoekt een ervaren Asset Specialist HVDC-kabels die direct bijdraagt aan alle functionele aspecten van kabels en connecties binnen het baanbrekende DC-transmissiesysteem. Je werkt in ons offshore projectleveringsonderdeel als technisch specialist en ondersteunt projectteams in alle fasen van het project.

Je input en aandacht zijn nodig bij kabelroute-onderzoek, ontwerp, prototyping, productie en installatie van het hele kabelsysteem.

Qualifications

• Relevante universiteitsgraad in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems and Control of HV Distribution.
• 6+ jaar ervaring met hoogspannings-kabels, bij voorkeur HVDC-subsea en/of landkabelprojecten.
• Sterke zelfstandigheid, initiatief en het vermogen om in multidisciplinaire teams te werken.
• Bereid om internationaal te reizen en in het bezit van rijbewijs.

Responsibilities

• Technische ondersteuning omtrent elektrische, thermische en mechanische aspecten van HVDC-kabels.
• Onderhouden van interne en externe netwerken om samenwerking en kennisdeling te stimuleren.
• Beoordelen van technische vragen, variaties en non-conformiteiten; adviseren over risico's en acceptatiecriteria.
• Leren van ervaringen uit vorige projecten om normen en processen te verbeteren.
• Bijwerken en onderhouden van HVDC-kabelspecificaties en vereisten samen met specialisten.

Keeping the Netherlands powered—that is our mission. As an Asset Specialist Offshore Cable High Voltage Direct Current, you ensure that the electricity grid remains future‑proof. Together with your team, you work on our new offshore cables for our new built platforms and landstations. (2GW Program). As an experienced Asset specialist HVDC cables you will have the focus on electrical, thermal and mechanical features of our HVDC power cables.

Jouw rol

As an experienced Asset Specialist HVDC cables, you contribute directly to all the functional aspects of the cables and accessories within the groundbreaking DC transmission system.

Working within our offshore project delivery unit, you are the technical specialist for HVDC cable systems. You support project teams throughout all phases of the project. Starting from cable route investigation, the preliminary design and prototyping of the cable, up to manufacturing and installation of the complete cable system – all the steps will require your input and attention. In particular:

• Technical support regarding electrical, thermal and mechanical aspects the HVDC cables – Provide specialist expertise during initiation, tendering, production and installation of the cable system.
• Industry knowledge & innovation – Stay up to date with HVDC technology and industry developments.
• Building strong networks – Maintain internal and external professional networks to stimulate collaboration, innovation and knowledge sharing.
• Review technical queries, variations, non-conformities raised by contractors and advise project teams on technical risks and acceptance criteria.
• Lessons learned & continuous improvement – Actively gather insights from past projects to improve standards and processes across the HVDC projects.
• Standards & requirements –Update, and maintain HVDC cable specification and requirements together with specialists across the organisation.

Waar kom je terecht

Offshore is verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling, realisatie en het beheer van het offshore elektriciteitsnet. Met de Noordzee als groene motor van de energietransitie vervult Offshore een duidelijke en belangrijke rol binnen de organisatiestructuur van TenneT. De Offshore-divisie beheert de volledige levenscyclus van alle offshore-installaties van TenneT: van ontwikkeling en realisatie tot onderhoud en overdracht aan de Operate-divisie. Een cruciale taak hierbij is de bouw van 2 GW ‘offshore stopcontacten’, die opgewekte windenergie verzamelen en transporteren naar het vasteland.

Jouw profiel & achtergrond

• This position requires a pragmatic working and thinking manner and a relevant university degree (Master/Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems and Control or HV Distribution.
• You have extensive experience with high-voltage cable systems. preferably HVDC subsea and/or land cable projects.
• Strong understanding or proven work experience (6+ years) in the discipline of power cables. Areas related to electrical and mechanical design, ampacity calculations, manufacturing, testing and commissioning are of relevance for our team.
• You show independence, initiative, and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. This is for you just as natural as strong communication skills
• Experience working with TSO's, utilities, EPC contractors or cable manufacturers or with off/onshore energy infrastructure projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinairy and (inter) national teams.
• You are willing to travel internationally and have a valid driver’s license.
• You are expected to work at the Arnhem office when needed and as a minimum 2 days a week.

• A permanent contract with a two-month probation period, based on 40 hours per week, or a one-year contract with the intention of becoming permanent.
• A salary in scale 9, excluding 8% holiday allowance and a 6% year-end bonus.

• 43 days of leave per year.
