Job description

Venor is proud to partner with our client, a global offshore/subsea service provider in the search for an Analysis Engineer. The Analysis Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:
  • To ensure codes, standards and standard operating procedures are applied and adhered to
  • Assist in the technical execution of SURF, Decommissioning and Renewables projects and tenders
  • Perform installation analysis for the installation of subsea cables, umbilicals, risers, flowlines, mooring chains and structures
  • Lead project/tender/study installation analysis scopes and ensure assigned work is compliant with DOF’s standards, client requirements, government regulations, and industry standards
  • Liaise with Project Managers/Regional Engineering Manager/Lead Engineers to clarify aspects of the work, installation feasibility, and complete tasks within the agreed timeframe
  • Complete assigned work within the allocated schedule and budget while maintaining company quality and safety standards
  • Generate technical project reports (such as memos and analysis reports, etc.) and technical presentations
  • Report scope status to Project Managers/Regional Engineering Manager/Lead Engineers and advise required resource adjustments
  • Interface with DOF’s disciplines as required for the analysis engineering scope to ensure the analysis is being performed with up-to-date information
  • Interface with the Client with the support of the Lead Engineer or Project Manager
  • Perform quality assurance and quality check of installation analysis work completed by others on the team
  • Participate in the development and attend project Constructability Reviews and Hazard Identification Risk Assessments (HIRA’s)
  • Prepare and present the offshore analysis readiness review meeting(s)
  • Supports offshore execution of the project during the installation phase and provides technical guidance as needed
  • Supports the identification of Lessons Learnt and implementation through corrective actions
  • Attends and participates in project close-out review; including generating the closeout report for the installation analysis scope
  • Proactively support Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) culture and promote correct HSES behaviors through personal actions
  • Proactively support the DOF’s Quality culture at every opportunity and promote correct behaviors through personal actions
  • Support the disposition of quality notifications and identify best practices to incorporate into the equipment design or installation/analysis process
  • Assist in the development of analysis guidelines and standard work instructions to leverage best practices
  • Assist in departmental objectives while maintaining project commitments
  • Maintain good communication between engineers and site/offshore managers/personnel
  • Promote the company’s organizational culture, values and reputation with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
  • Promote the development of a HSEQ culture and system that minimizes the risk of injury to personnel, the environment and equipment
  • Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards
What you will bring:
  • BSc, BEng or higher in Marine, Naval Architecture, Hydrodynamics or Offshore Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years relevant work experience, fluent in English (both written and verbal).
  • Proficient in working with Orcaflex and is able to run static and dynamic analysis; working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, VBA, or Matlab is desirable.
  • Experience in the subsea cables, umbilicals, and flexible installation, mooring installation analysis engineering.
  • Experience in subsea structure installation analysis engineering (lifting, lowering, and landing).
  • Proficient in PC word processing and spreadsheet software and programming.
  • General awareness of the standards and regulations such as API and DNV. Ability to research and apply the required codes to given areas as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project.
  • Highly confident, self motivated and self disciplined person with sound management and organisational skills.
  • Must be able to perform and achieve at a high level with minimal supervision.
  • Good organisational skills and smart working methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with the employees. Professional demeanour to promote company interests is expected always.
