The role provides substantial autonomy within regulatory guidelines, working closely with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat detained patients.

Candidates should possess a BIG registration and are encouraged to deepen expertise in forensic psychiatry, risk assessment, and related trainings.

Qualifications

• BIG-registered physician required.
• Knowledge of forensic psychopathology is a plus.
• Ability to translate clinical insights into actionable advice in a penitentiary context.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and medical management under psychiatrist supervision.
• Lead diagnostic discussions and contribute to treatment plans in a multidisciplinary team.
• Perform intake conversations, risk assessments, and outline medical treatment pathways.
• Collaborate with other professionals to optimize patient care and safety.
