PostNL zoekt een AI Software Engineer voor Team AI CoE / Core Tech. Je bouwt gedeelde AI-capabilities, experimenteert met de nieuwste AI-technologieën en helpt bepalen welke ontwikkelingen we adopteren.

Je werkt aan praktische, herbruikbare services en componenten en werkt samen met AI Engineers en Data Scientists. Hybrid werken met kantoor in Den Haag biedt autonomie en groeimogelijkheden.

Qualifications

• Een bachelor- of masterdiploma in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence of een gerelateerd vakgebied.
• Minimaal vier jaar professionele ervaring in software engineering.
• Ervaring met het bouwen van AI-gedreven applicaties of backend-services met TypeScript en Python.
• Ervaring met AWS-diensten zoals Lambda en Step Functions en met infrastructure-as-code zoals AWS CDK.

Responsibilities

• Bouw gedeelde services en herbruikbare componenten voor AI-toepassingen binnen PostNL.
• Werk samen met AI Engineers en Data Scientists om ideeën om te zetten in praktische oplossingen.
• Durf ideeën te challengen en prototypes of roadmaps voor te stellen.

Dit is jouw rol

You build shared services and reusable components that help teams across PostNL develop AI solutions. Rather than working on one central platform, you develop technical capabilities that can be used across different use cases and teams. Your work may include capabilities such as knowledge bases, web search or reusable patterns for building agents, as well as new capabilities that emerge as AI technology develops. A key part of your role is staying close to what is happening in AI. You explore emerging technologies, experiment with new tools and approaches, and assess which developments could be relevant for PostNL. You are encouraged to question how we currently work, bring new ideas to the team, and turn promising developments into prototypes, shared capabilities, or proposals for our roadmap.

You work closely with other AI Engineers and colleagues across PostNL to test ideas and turn them into practical solutions. You also enjoy sharing what you learn, whether through demos, technical deep dives, documentation, or simply helping other engineers understand and use new technologies.

Jouw collega's

You will join PostNL’s AI CoE, a central team that helps shape how AI is developed and applied across the organisation. The team consists of 9 colleagues, including AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Solution Consultants, Product Owners, and AI Literacy Leads. The AI CoE is organised into two streams: adoption and core tech. You will join the core tech stream. The atmosphere is open and helpful: we review each other’s work, share knowledge in deep dives, and regularly meet in The Hague to collaborate and refine our work together.

• A salary between €4.091 and €6.498 gross per month based on a 37-hour work week. But 32 hours is possible too!

You also bring:

• A bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• At least four years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating a strong engineering foundation.
• Experience building AI-powered applications or backend services using TypeScript and Python.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda and Step Functions, and infrastructure as code solutions such as AWS CDK.
