Job summary

Mistral AI in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support GDPR compliance across product and engineering teams, drafting compliance documentation and policies. The legal team collaborates across Paris, Palo Alto, and other regions.

The role requires 5–10 years in IT/privacy law, strong drafting and communication skills, and the ability to advise multiple teams on privacy implications of new features in a fast-evolving AI environment.

Qualifications

• Master degree in law; bar admission is a plus.
• 5–10 years of experience in a law firm or tech company, IT law and GDPR/privacy compliance.
• Strong knowledge of privacy regulations and guidance from national authorities and the EDPB.

Responsibilities

• Manage Mistral AI’s GDPR compliance documentation and DPIAs.
• Answer data subject requests; implement GDPR processes and automation.
• Negotiate DPAs with providers and customers.
• Monitor privacy regulations and supervisory guidance.
