Job description

A leading space-based ISR organisation is hiring a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to build and deploy AI-powered intelligence workflows for defence and government customers.

This is a hands-on role working in secure, often air-gapped environments, delivering mission-critical tools that turn satellite and intelligence data into real operational insight.

What You’ll Be Doing as the AI Engineer:

• Deploying AI and intelligence platforms into classified/on-prem environments
• Building containerised solutions using Docker and Kubernetes
• Developing RAG pipelines combining satellite imagery with intel reporting
• Creating AI agents and workflows with tools like LangChain/LangGraph
• Integrating APIs and data pipelines into customer C4ISR systems
• Rapid prototyping alongside analysts and military operators
• Delivering training and gathering feedback to shape future capabilities

What They’re Looking For:

• 3+ years’ experience building and deploying production software
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG systems
• Experience deploying into secure or disconnected environments
• Knowledge of Docker, Linux, and basic Kubernetes operations
• Ability to obtain high-level security clearance

Nice to Have

• Geospatial or satellite imagery exposure
• MCP integrations, multi-agent workflows
• On-prem, offline CI/CD, Terraform/Ansible
