Job summary

Optiver is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design, build and deploy advanced AI agents that orchestrate data and decisions across the firm. You will own the lifecycle from prototype to production, tying technical choices to business value.

Responsibilities include designing AI agents with Python, integrating with enterprise systems, evaluating third‑party models, and maintaining robust, tested code with CI/CD practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong Python 3.x knowledge with asyncio, type hints, and context managers.
• Solid knowledge of software design patterns and modular architecture.
• Experience with AI/ML libraries and integrating with 3rd party services.
• Experience developing AI agents (commercial or open source).
• Strong problem-solving in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust AI agents using Python
• Integrate AI solutions with existing enterprise systems
• Understand the landscape of 3rd party models, their strengths and weaknesses
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand user needs and deliver effective agents

WHO YOU ARE

• Solid understanding of software design patterns, object‑oriented design, and modular architecture
• Excellent knowledge of Python, common AI/ML libraries and integration with 3rd party services
• Some commercial or open source experience in developing AI agents with any of the well‑known services
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment
