Job summary

A leading aerospace contractor in the Netherlands is searching for a Non-Metallic Materials and Processes Engineer to support the European Space Agency. The role requires a Master's degree in materials engineering, with responsibilities including mechanical testing of materials and using advanced composite technologies. Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent qualification in materials engineering or related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience in processing/production of composites.

Responsibilities

• Work as a contractor for the European Space Agency at ESTEC.
• Conduct mechanical testing and performance evaluations for materials.
• Define and execute test plans for qualification of materials.

Skills

Processing/production of carbon-fibre composites

Mechanical testing and fatigue life assessment

Define and execute test plans

Selection of materials for space application

Experience with composite materials for tanks

Simulation of thermo-mechanical behaviour

Data analytics and machine learning for composite analysis

Fluency in English

Education

Master’s degree in materials engineering or equivalent
