Job description

The Wind Development Manager will be a key contributor in driving Solarvest’s strategic expansion into the wind energy sector. Working closely with our external wind consultant, this role will be responsible for supporting the full development cycle of onshore and offshore wind projects from early-stage site identification to commercial operation. This position requires a strong technical foundation, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while transitioning into a future leadership role within Solarvest’s wind business.

Key Responsibilities
Project Development & Planning
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new wind project opportunities, including greenfield sites, strategic partnerships, and co‑development prospects.
  • Conduct site assessments, technical feasibility studies, and preliminary wind resource evaluations with guidance from the external consultant.
  • Support wind measurement campaigns, permitting studies, environmental assessments, and land acquisition activities.
  • Develop project development plans, including schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.
Permitting, Compliance & Regulatory Management
  • Manage planning, permitting, and regulatory submissions, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and national requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, environmental consultants, legal teams, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support preparation of documentation for EIA, grid connection, land use approval, and other statutory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Engage with landowners, government bodies, local communities, and industry partners to build positive and sustainable relationships.
  • Represent Solarvest in public consultations, stakeholder dialogues, and industry events.
  • Coordinate technical clarifications and commercial discussions with external stakeholders.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams to align technical requirements and project objectives.
  • Provide support during EPCC tendering, vendor evaluations, and technical specifications development.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure key milestones are achieved.
Industry Research & Strategic Insight
  • Conduct ongoing research on market outlook, policy changes, competitor developments, and technological innovations within the wind sector.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on industry trends, investment opportunities, and strategic positioning.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare high‑quality reports, presentations, and development updates for senior leadership.
  • Assist in preparing investment papers, feasibility reports, and commercial proposals.
Learning & Knowledge Development
  • Work directly under the mentorship of the External Wind Consultant to build capability in wind engineering, development workflow, and industry best practices.
  • Commit to continuous learning with the aim of progressing into a leadership role in Solarvest’s wind business in the medium term.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in project development, EPCC, renewable energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects (wind experience is an advantage).
  • Strong technical understanding of project engineering concepts, permitting processes, and development workflows.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits, stakeholder meetings, and project evaluations.
