Job Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting: Study blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to understand project scope and specifications.
  • Preparation: Clean and prepare metal surfaces to be welded, and position and secure metal pieces according to specifications.
  • Welding: Operate welding equipment (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick, arc) to fuse components together in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
  • Fabrication and assembly: Assemble and fabricate metal structures and equipment, sometimes cutting materials to size using torches or saws.
  • Quality assurance: Inspect welds for accuracy and quality to ensure they meet project specifications and standards.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment and tools.
  • Safety: Follow strict safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
