Job summary

Hong Leong Bank Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Wealth Lending professional to partner with relationship managers, investment specialists and product teams to deliver tailored financing solutions for Private & Priority Banking clients.

Qualifications

• Collaborate across teams with stakeholders be it RMs, ICs, Credit, Ops to drive wealth lending product awareness and activity.
• Partner with RMs and ICs to structure tailored financing solutions for Private and Priority Banking clients.
• Join new prospect and client meetings to assess needs and advise on wealth lending propositions.
• Identify opportunities by pre-screening lending requests and structuring viable loan proposals.
• Ensure loan applications and credit write-ups are complete and compliant with policies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross teams with stakeholders be it RMs, ICs, Credit, Ops to drive wealth lending product awareness and activity across the Bank’s sales distribution network.
• Partner with RMs and ICs to structure tailored account plan with financing solutions for Private and Priority Banking clients.
• Join in new prospect and client meetings with RMs / ICs to assess client’s needs and perform advisory on wealth lending propositions eg. Portfolio Financing, OD-UT, Share Margin.
• Act as 1st line to identify new opportunities by pre-screening lending requests and structuring loan proposals that work for both the client and Bank.
• Facilitate loan application for the client and ensure a seamless client experience throughout the engagement journey.
• Support RMs to submit the Portfolio Financing new loan applications (credit write-ups + supporting materials), renewals and amendments to Credit, and ensure all relevant info are captured on the applications / credit write up for completeness.
• Ensure credit requests comply with internal policies, meet the respective product parameters, credit guidelines and regulatory requirements with appropriate risk mitigants if needed.
• Assist with meeting preparation and documentation for client discussions.
• Partner closely with Sales teams to support drawdown execution to meet client’s liquidity needs or investment trade settlement.
• Manage BAU credit support activities and follow up with the client / RM on outstanding items.
• Manage expectations through strong communication with clients, RMs and ICs and Bank’s touchpoints.
• Keep abreast of industry developments, market sentiments and competitors’ offerings and share insights periodically with Product, Sales and Credit teams to enhance lending frameworks.
• Identify client demands, needs and trends to shape our future wealth lending product offering.
• Attend to queries from Sales RMs, Area Managers, RCGMs, Credit, Ops, BCB RMs etc in a timely manner.
• Respond to loan servicing issues eg. client’s queries on loan account balances, facility utilization, account statement.
• Work with Sales Management / Analytics to identify potential leads and build pipelines to deepen wallet share with clients.
• Work with Product teams to review / fine-tune product construct by providing ongoing feedback.
• Monitor the lending portfolio for signs of weakness / overconcentration in any 1 asset class and recommend solutions to de-risk.
• Schedule ongoing ground engagements with Bank’s touchpoints eg. Business Channels, Branch Managers, Area Managers to increase NTB and NTP penetration.
• Contribute to the wealth lending loan growth target with business prudence.

Job Overview
