Job summary

TG Malaysia in Perak seeks an experienced engineer to design and optimize wave soldering processes for PCB production, ensuring high quality and efficiency. You will develop process control plans, conduct qualification studies, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with production and engineering to maintain a zero-defect soldering process.

Qualifications

• University degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement ideas to improve quality, productivity, downtime and costs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical skills.
• Hardworking with problem-solving using 4M, 5 Why, Pareto and PDCA; able to work independently.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes and SPC methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize wave soldering processes for products to ensure high quality and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain process control plans for consistent, defect-free soldering.
• Conduct process qualification and validation studies.
• Perform preventive maintenance on wave soldering equipment.
• Troubleshoot soldering issues and implement rework processes.
• Manage spare parts for soldering equipment.
• Inspect PCBs for solder quality and cleanliness.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure smooth operation.
• Provide technical support and training to soldering technicians.
• Participate in NPI activities to ensure manufacturability and maintain zero-defect soldering.
• Analyze soldering process data to identify improvements.
• Implement and track process improvements.
• Knowledge of wave soldering principles, processes and equipment.
• Familiarity with soldering materials, fluxes, and cleaning agents.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in using soldering equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of soldering defects and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience in wave soldering processes, PCB manufacturing, and equipment maintenance.
