Assistant Manager / Manager, Warehouse

Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager / Manager, Warehouse plays a key role in overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe handling of goods. This position supports overall supply chain objectives by managing inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse space, leading warehouse staff, and maintaining compliance with operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of warehouse space, equipment, and manpower.
  • Supervise order processing, shipping, and receiving activities to meet delivery timelines and quality standards.
2. Inventory Control
  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct periodic stock audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with the procurement and logistics teams to maintain appropriate stock levels and support production or sales needs.
  • Implement effective inventory control procedures to reduce losses and improve operational efficiency.
3. Staff Supervision and Development
  • Lead, train, and supervise warehouse personnel to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
  • Allocate daily work assignments, monitor performance, and provide guidance to improve individual and team results.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and collaborative work culture.
4. Safety and Compliance
  • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, housekeeping checks, and staff safety training sessions.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
5. Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse operations.
  • Generate periodic reports on inventory movement, order status, productivity, and performance metrics.
  • Assist in the preparation of warehouse budgets, forecasts, and improvement plans.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, including 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy items when necessary.
