Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure adequate materials.
  • Record and maintain accurate inventory data.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Marketing and Production departments.
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders.
  • Prepare material requisitions and stock reports.
  • Conduct periodic stock counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of materials.
  • Monitor slow-moving and obsolete materials.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Manage Work In Progress based on production planning.
  • Supervise material handling to production.

Job description

Gosford Leather Industries – Johor Bahru, Johor

1.1 Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure sufficient materials are available to meet operational and production requirements.

1.2 Record, update, and maintain accurate inventory data in the system, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.

1.3 Coordinate with Purchasing, Marketing and Production departments to ensure timely material planning and delivery.

1.4 Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery documents to ensure accuracy and quality compliance.

1.5 Prepare material requisitions, stock reports, and inventory status reports on a regular basis.

1.6 Conduct periodic stock counts and physical inventory audits to identify discrepancies and take corrective actions.

1.7 Ensure proper storage, labelling, and organization of materials according to company procedures and safety standards.

1.8 Monitor slow-moving, excess, or obsolete materials and report findings to management.

1.9 Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and material handling processes.

1.10 Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and documentation standards.

1.11 Managing WIP (Work In Progress) based on daily production planning.

1.12 Monitoring and supervising material handling to production

2.0 SKILL REQUIREMENTS

2.1 Experience in material management

2.2 Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Excel

2.3 Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

2.4 Excellent communication abilities.

2.5 Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia & English.

3.0 COMPETENCY LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

3.1 At least a Diploma qualification or equivalent.

3.2 Minimum 1 year experience in related field.
