We are looking for a Video Editor with experience in digital media and social media video production to join our editorial team. This role involves editing news videos, explainer videos, and social media content for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, and Facebook.

You will work closely with journalists, content writers, and producers to turn scripts and raw footage into high-quality, audience-friendly videos.

Key Responsibilities

Edit short-form videos and long-form videos for digital and social media platforms

Produce video content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and online media

Transform scripts on economics, business, and public policy into engaging visual stories

Add subtitles, motion graphics, sound effects, and background music where appropriate

Ensure accuracy, clarity, pacing, and consistency with editorial standards

Collaborate with the editorial and creative teams on content planning

Meet deadlines in a fast-paced digital newsroom environment

Manage video assets, timelines, and project files efficiently

Job Requirements

Proven experience as a Video Editor, Video Content Editor, or Digital Media Editor

Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software

Strong understanding of social media video formats, aspect ratios, and trends

Good storytelling skills, attention to detail, and visual sense

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Strong time management and organisational skills

Added Advantage

Experience in news media, explainer videos, or educational content

Basic motion graphics, data visualisation, or infographic animation skills

Interest in economics, business, finance, or public policy
