Job description
Job Purpose

Formulate and drive the objectives and targets for attaining excellence in Academic programme delivery and support by i) strategizing and formulating academic delivery approach and framework to ensure competitive and sustainable programme offering involving management of overall academic performance and support mainly in system and information resource / knowledge management, drive timely curriculum development and review/audit, facilitation of content development and instructional design, and linkages and collaboration with relevant partners and authorities and ii) leading the development of teaching & learning capability for academics and support to ensure successful implementation of the academic delivery and framework to achieve best possible efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Accountabilities
Academic Performance

Drive the attainment of the superior academic performance target through (i) timely execution of related developed strategies and the several outcomes monitored through Programme Outcome Survey (POS) and Program Educational Objective Survey (PEOS) supported by other relevant key performance indicators such as Student Self Reflection Tool (SSRT), reputation survey/feedback etc. and ii) analysis of surveys conducted / KPI attained and formulate strategic recommendations for continuous quality improvement (CQI) to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of programme offerings.

Content Development and Instructional Design (VR,AR,3D)

i. Facilitate efficient guidance and support for academics in producing virtual content delivery using contemporary technology for content development and effective instructional design approach resulting in various interactive modes of learning materials such as videos, animations, models, games etc.

ii) Formulate effective and efficient system for repository of the developed content delivery which will enable quick and easy access by students and staff whenever needed and some progress monitoring mechanism.

Academic Collaboration

Formulate and facilitate academic collaboration among internal and external parties through i. provision, promotion and management of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) grants and conduct of related activities such as Academic Away Day, Teaching & Learning Innovation Festival (TLIF) and Government Linked Universities (GLU) meetings, ii) supporting faculty on managing adjunct lectureship / part-time lectures and academic advisory functions such as Industrial Advisory Panel (IAP), Teaching and Learning Advisory Panel, International External Examiner (IEE) etc and iii) provision of excellent information resource centre services to academics and students.

Academic Administration

Plan and execute related academic administration tasks by i) spearheading the development and implementation of related academic guidelines for students and academics, ii) managing activities such as Academic Away Day, Industrial Advisory Panel (IAP) meetings, International External Examiner (IEE), Teaching & Learning Innovation Festival (TLIF) and CETAL Advisory Panel meetings, iii) co-developing of academic calendar & course schedule with Resource Planning and Performance department with recommendations on new resources where necessary, (iv) supporting the involvement of academics in Teaching and Learning related events, conference and exhibition.

Curriculum Development and Review

Formulate the approach for efficient and effective curriculum development for new programmes and existing academic programme curriculum review and to facilitate the conduct by faculty through planning overall timeline, facilitating review workshops, endorsing benchmarking results to ascertain programme details including niche area, tuition fees and student demand, endorsing the paperwork per fulfilling COPPA 2017 and coordinating with other departments for programme submission and approval by related authorities.

T&L capability Development

Formulate and drive teaching and learning capabilities by i) developing and approving the academic development matrix, ii) facilitating the use of Student Centre Learning (SCL) tools such as Community of Practice (COP), iii) approving enhancements to the learner centred pedagogy in order to increase the pool of competent academics in support of the delivery of academic programmes and iv) managing the academics delivery system and information resources using contemporary related technology.

Audit & Accreditation Compliance

Lead the internal audit activities related to SETARA, ISO and MQA by approving the audit plan, audit reports for review by management and logistics for the audit exercise in addition to facilitating the overall audit activities with the respective academic departments in order to maintain the quality of the academic programme curriculum and delivery with respect to compliance of work activities against establish processes, standard operating procedures (SOP), policies, guidelines and other external requirements (ISO9001, Programme Accreditation - Swaakreditasi).

Departmental Adiministration and Divisional Covering

Manage the administration for the department by executing all administrative tasks such as budget and leave management, staff training and performance evaluation, and mentoring and guiding other executives in daily tasks in addition to the occasional covering of divisional administration to ensure smooth and continued operations of the department and division.

  • Recognised Doctor of Philosophy degree in relevant field
  • More than 18 years of experience in relevant field
  • Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in both written and verbal communication, essential for academic leadership and stakeholder engagement.
  • Possesses outstanding interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across diverse academic and administrative communities.
