Overview
CPI Penang Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of KPS Berhad, is hiring a Vice President, Finance. The role is responsible for the Company’s financial and risk management, including development of financial strategy aligned to the Company’s business strategy, and ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the Company’s assets.
Responsibilities
- Planning: Assisting in formulating the Company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives. Monitoring and directing implementation of strategic business plans. Managing the capital request, budgeting process and controlling the spending of the budget. Developing performance measures and monitoring systems that support the Company’s strategic direction.
- Operations: Participating in key decisions as a member of the senior management team. Managing the finance department with accountability. Overseeing the financial operations of subsidiary and/or related companies. Implementing operational best practices such as cost optimisation, cost savings and process improvement. Overseeing employees’ compensation, benefits plans and related salary expenditure with emphasis on cost-effective benefits. Supervising due diligence on acquisitions and negotiating related pricing, if necessary. Overseeing the issuance and production of financial information, taxation and related processes. Procedural reporting of financial results to the Board / EXCO / parent company for consolidation purposes. Ensuring / managing accurate product costing structure and availability in CPI\'s ERP system to assist the CEO and other heads of department in planning and decision making. Ensuring / managing financial-related reports availability in CPI\'s ERP system for reporting purposes. Managing discussions with tax agents on planning-related matters. Monitoring cash balances and borrowings. Arranging for debt financing and equity financing, if applicable. Monitoring the investment of funds and treasury activity. Mitigating key elements of the Company’s risks as identified in the Company’s Risk Profile. Monitoring reliable internal control systems and adequate policies & procedures for Finance processes. Maintaining appropriate insurance coverage. Ensuring that financial record keeping complies with external auditor’s requirements and government authorities. Maintaining relationships with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, fund managers and other external stakeholders. Investigating any external auditor’s findings and finding solutions for improvement. Participating in meetings and discussions on investment opportunities, if required. Maintaining good relationships with bankers, auditors, tax agents and relevant government agencies. Representing the Company with investment bankers and investors. Key liaison from CPI in dealings with KPS on all matters.
- Requirements: Good bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A member of professional accountancy bodies (ACCA, ICAEW, MICPA and others). 10+ years of significant accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing company; leadership or management experience is preferred. Preferably includes experience at major accounting firms. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong team-building skills and ability to motivate others. Team player mindset and willingness to collaborate. Willing to take responsibility and act independently when necessary. Extensive experience in management/leadership roles, decision-making, and excellent written and verbal communication in English with good analytical skills.
