A leading food and beverage company is seeking a Utility Engineer in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The role focuses on providing technical support and leading process improvement initiatives to optimize plant operations. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Chemical Engineering and have 3-5 years of experience in relevant fields like oils and fats processing. Strong communication and advanced Excel skills are crucial for this position.
The Utility Engineer provides technical and process support to ensure efficient plant operations. This role focuses on process development, productivity improvement, and compliance with safety and quality standards while supporting engineering projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Reporting to : Senior Maintenance Engineer
Provide prompt process and technical support to operations.
Drive process development and improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, rates, yield, and cost efficiency.
Lead and provide technical expertise for engineering projects.
Participate as a leader or team member in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
Offer backup and support to other members of the engineering team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other Kerry sites to resolve issues and implement best practices.
Apply technical skills to analyze process problems and perform troubleshooting.
Conduct special investigations related to safety, environmental, quality, and cost improvement projects.
Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of safety and quality management systems.
Degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum Second Upper Class.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar field.
Related knowledge and experience in oils & fats, oleochemicals processing, plant construction projects, utilities, and energy‑saving initiatives.
Ability to express and communicate ideas effectively in individual and group settings with different stakeholders.
Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and prioritize satisfaction.
Initiative to contribute to product and process improvement and team growth.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel.
