Role Description

As we expand Malaysia’s very first School of Digital Health, we are seeking a full‑time, on‑site University Lecturer in AI and Digital Health, Health Informatics, or Data Science to join our growing academic team. The Lecturer will be responsible (but not limited to) in preparing and delivering lectures, developing teaching materials, conducting research and trainings, supervising student projects, and providing mentorship. Additional tasks include contributing to administrative tasks at various levels, curriculum and programme development, participating in University, School and departmental colloquia and meetings, collaborating with other faculty and organisation members, and to engage, support and contribute towards KPJ and KPJU’s AI, Digital Health and Data Science initiatives, including our Centre for Digital Health (CDH). This role is located in Nilai and Kuala Lumpur.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in AI, Health Informatics, or Data Science
• Develop and maintain course materials and teaching resources
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
• Conduct academic research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals
• Mentor students and support their academic and professional development
• Participate in curriculum design and review processes
• Attend departmental and university‑level academic meetings
• Conduct professional training in AI, Data Science, or related areas
• Support KPJ and KPJU’s ongoing and future AI and Data Science initiatives

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or PhD in Digital Health, Computer Engineering with AI, Computer Science with AI, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Health Informatics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching, curriculum development, and academic assessment.
• Strong research portfolio with a record of publications
• Ability to supervise student research and projects effectively
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in integrating digital technology in teaching
• Prior experience conducting professional or industry‑focused training is a plus
• Experience and/or relevant certifications in Outcome‑Based Education (OBE) and academic programme development; digital application development (including web or mobile applications and full‑stack systems); CASEMIX (including Diagnosis‑Related Group (DRG) systems and clinical coding); Open and Distance Learning (ODL); and/or HRD Corp (HRDC)–certified Train‑the‑Trainer (TTT) are considered an added advantage.
