Are you an experienced Chief Engineer on board dredging vessels, and ready to share your knowledge and expertise with others? Looking for the perfect permanent job with variety on board and at home base in the Netherlands?

We are looking for you: that technical dredging specialist who enjoys to educate your profession during training sessions, but also loves to travel the world!

Function description

In this role as a training specialist for the dredging division of a shipbuilder, you will be responsible for developing and providing training, both technical and operational, to your customers worldwide.

Your students will range from operators, maintenance staff, and engineers who work with the dredging systems developed by your employer.

You will give these training courses both at the head office and on board new vessels. In short: you will have the advantage of working closer to home, but also the advantage of regularly traveling so that your sailor's heart keeps beating!

Your responsibilities will include:

• providing demonstrations for (future) customers
• developing and updating operational and technical training courses
• providing classroom, digital, and simulator training courses
• 'train-the-trainer' programs onboard your customers vessels

You will also be involved in the annual intensive training program in which participants receive broad training in the entire field.

Your years of experience as a chief engineer in the dredging industry will come into their own in this exciting position. Not much experience as a trainer? That's okay: your strong technical background and social skills are what we value. You will receive excellent guidance, making this position a great opportunity for the next step in your already impressive career.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a chief engineer on board various dredgers worldwide
• You are able to work independently, but also with customers and colleagues.
• You are happy to travel regularly.
• You speak and write fluent English.
• If you also speak Dutch, this would be an advantage.
