Job summary

A well-known F&B group is seeking an experienced Sous Chef specializing in Thai cuisine to join their team in Sungai Long, Kajang. The chosen candidate will support the Head Chef in menu development, supervise food preparation, and manage kitchen operations. A proven background in a Thai or Japanese kitchen and a strong work ethic are required. This role offers a potential hostel stay if needed and requires flexibility in working hours.

  • Good knowledge of Thai / Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques.

We are representing our client, a well-known F&B group that caters to high-end customers and offers event banquet rentals. They are seeking an experiencedSous Chef (Thai cuisine)to join their team inSungai Long, Kajang (Hostel provided if needed).

Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef in menu development and kitchen management.
  • Supervise food preparation and ensure adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Assist in staff training and performance evaluation.
  • Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef / Demi Chef / Commis Chef in a Thai / Japanese kitchen.
  • Good knowledge of Thai / Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on restaurant operation needs.
  • Culinary certification is a plus.
  • Willing to work inSungai Long, Kajang.
