Job summary

An automation solutions company in Penang is seeking a technician to perform testing and troubleshooting of machines. The ideal candidate has a Certificate in Engineering, along with 2 to 5 years of experience in the related field, and must be able to commit to shift work. Responsibilities

Complete performing test plan and shipment preparation with guidance from the senior technician, team leader, supervisor and/or engineering to meet customer required date.
Liaise with the assembly team to ensure machines are ready for testing and troubleshooting of integration tasks that may arise.
Conduct inspection of all test materials for visible defects prior to initiating testing procedures.
Conduct comprehensive testing procedures, including powering on equipment, installing software, performing I/O checks, motion tuning, verifying vision hardware, setting up machines, executing sequence test runs, STD plan and Routine Test in accordance with work instructions/test plan and guidance from the seniors and engineers.
Review and verify the work completed after each operation and upon finishing the job to ensure compliance with the work instructions/ test plan.
Perform machines troubleshooting with the guidance from seniors and engineers.
Prepare machines for shipment in accordance with detailed work instructions, ensuring all specifications are met.
Provide on-site customer support as assigned by supervisor or management to ensure customer satisfaction and facilitate effective problem resolution.
Maintain a clean and organized test bay by performing daily 5S activities at the start and end of each shift, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
Other duties and assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time.
To comply to all requirements of ISO (inclusive of all standards approved by the Management) and to adhere to general safety practices, standard operating procedure, work instructions, policies and guidelines provided by the company.

Job Requirements

At least a Certificate in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent years of related experience.
Preferably 2 to 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Hands-on skill in testing, mechanical or electrical assembly.
Able to commit for shift work.
