Job Overview
As Terminal Operations Supervisor you will lead terminal compliance with all relevant internal and external standards and regulations, support a Terminal Automation System (TAS), Reliability & Integrity (R&I) plan, Asset Management Plan (AMP), and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and provide relief coverage during manpower shortages.
Responsibilities
- Conduct business in accordance with Shell’s Statement of General Business Principles.
- Assist the Terminal Manager with implementing the Business Controls Framework and adhering to company policies, standards, and procedures.
- Achieve KPI targets by collating, preparing, and submitting all required KPI reports.
- Execute the Business Continuity Plan/Disaster Recovery Plan to avoid depot operation disruptions.
- Maintain all terminal maintenance activities, including routine maintenance, gantry, firefighting equipment, tanks, jetty, pipelines, electrical, pumps, PRV/TRV, hoses, and surveillance.
- Execute day‑to‑day maintenance work through a computerized maintenance management system (GSAP PM).
- Maintain HSSE critical equipment and ensure optimum working condition.
- Implement and maintain T&S Management Systems, including terminal operations manuals, local operating procedures, HSSE management system, emergency response plan, oil spill contingency plan, and asset integrity process safety manual.
- Obtain necessary funds for construction, decommissioning, and annual budget review.
- Use the Risk Matrix to identify terminal operation issues and develop action plans.
- Lead terminal initiatives and programs in HSSE, road transport, GSAP, D‑GAME, finance, and people.
- Verify and monitor preventive maintenance execution.
- Ensure proper and timely execution of R&I programs (TIP, JIP, PIP).
- Participate in the terminal fire‑fighting, emergency response, and oil‑spill management team, attending required training and drills.
- Audit and review terminal operations (MFV, SMBR, DOR, HSSE SP, SIA, etc.).
- Supervise engineering projects initiated by the terminal.
- Attend HSSE meetings and maintain document integrity.
- Supervise terminal operators and provide training as needed.
- Serve as a certified Shore Officer, coordinating with the ship representative and ensuring safe discharge and loading operations.
- Act as PTW signatory and authorized gas tester (AGT).
- Support road transport related activities and act as backup for the Terminal Manager.
- Perform any other tasks required by the Terminal Manager.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemical, or related field.
- Experience in maintenance, chemical or fuel handling.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and self‑starter skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
