Job summary

A leading financial institution in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a qualified individual to identify improvement areas within the Systems Development Life Cycle. This role includes liaising with IT for solutions while managing risk assessments to ensure compliance. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong skills in quality assurance and IT systems, and excellent communication abilities. Knowledge of financial industry compliance is a plus.

Job description
Key Responsibilities


  • Identify improvement areas in Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to keep system deployment errors at a minimum with key focus on customer touch-points which includes but not limited to activities like the review of UAT/SIT test cases for completeness.

  • Liaise closely with IT to provide solutions in ensuring system resiliency.

  • Perform risk assessments on IT related projects to ensure that the projects are managed and executed as per governance and compliance.

  • Conduct focused technology reviews and assessments as requested by management.

  • Contribute to the development of strategy and plan for the governance and enforcement of technology quality assurance by adopting good practices based on COBIT Framework towards improved quality of change delivery to production environment.

  • Contribute to the development of new and innovative approach in managing technology management issues.


Experience/Knowledge Required


  • At least 5 years of experience working in a similar or related role with exposure to quality assurance methodology and processes.

  • Knowledge in Systems Development Life Cycle, COBIT Framework.

  • Possess strong IT skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strength and weaknesses of IT systems.

  • Understands the intricacies of business applications and its impact to customer service and experience.

  • Experience in managing people of various backgrounds and seniority.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Knowledge on financial industry compliance, risk and regulatory requirements will be an advantage.
