Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the integration, calibration, and testing of systems, accessories, and upgrades. Each system is typically assembled and tested to a specific customer order requiring verification of compliance to system specifications, accuracy of configuration, and timeliness of completion. This job includes troubleshooting and correcting of mechanical and electrical problems and requires skill in these areas. The individual collaborates with Manufacturing Engineers and R&D Engineering to improve product quality and processes. The job requires the individual to actively update testing requirements to ensure all potential quality issues are addressed during final testing. The individual aids in determining root cause and implementing corrective actions related to production defects. The position requires on‑the‑spot troubleshooting and repair to ensure orders are shipped on time. The position requires an ability to work independently or as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Integration, testing, calibration, and rework of products to ensure on‑time completion of customer orders.
  • Assembly of electro‑mechanical components and devices working under general or minimal supervision.
  • Analyze results, evaluate systems‑level functionality, and make corrections to meet system level and engineering performance requirements.
  • Support and/or implementation of functional test methodology at the systems level.
  • Maintain test plans and generate test reports with support teams.
  • Make recommendations and execute solutions to improve product performance, quality and reliability.
  • Resolve system level failures and production challenges.
  • Perform corrective actions based on test results.
  • Complete customer orders per commitments.
  • Support quality improvement projects.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

May include:

  • Participating in new product release teams.
  • Conducting training on the testing and use of Bruker systems.
  • Participating in improvement projects.
  • Collaborating with manufacturing engineers to correct and improve procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Advanced ability to troubleshoot optical, mechanical, electrical, and system issues.
• Strong team player, with excellent collaboration, oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills; Technical aptitude.
• Use of hand and power tools may be required.
• Basic mechanical abilities required.
• Must be able to lift ~50 lbs (~22kg).

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in one or more of the following: Physics, Engineering.
  • minimum 3 years of relevant industrial working experience or certification equivalent to industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of instrument test and measurement methods.
  • Typically requires 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing of hi‑tech instrument/instrument testing environment.
