Job summary

SAMTEC, Inc. is seeking a skilled technician to safeguard automation and hand-fill equipment in a manufacturing setting. The role includes coordinating technician coverage, managing staff performance, and ensuring timely procurement of tools and supplies.

The candidate will collaborate with engineering, quality and customer service to investigate issues and support new projects, including potential hazardous materials handling. Strong physical capability required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a technician on automated machines in manufacturing.
• Must have 20/40 correctable vision.
• Able to lift 70 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Capable of standing or sitting for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of all automation/hand fill equipment.
• Coordinate technician coverage and schedules with the technical group.
• Manage staff including discipline and performance evaluations.
• Procure tools, supplies, and equipment for technicians.
• Coordinate projects to improve quality, throughput, and safety.
• Oversee preventative maintenance for manufacturing equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and customer service to investigate issues.
• Interface with engineering on tooling and machinery for new projects.
• Possibly handle hazardous materials.

Job description

Responsible for the general safety of all Automation/Hand Fill equipment.

Coordinate schedules for technical group to ensure all manufacturing times have adequate Technician coverage.

Responsible for management of staff including discipline, performance evaluations, etc.

Responsible for timely procurement of necessary tools, supplies, and equipment required for the technician staff to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.

Coordinate projects on existing machinery to improve quality, throughput, and safety.

Responsible for Preventative Maintenance program for all manufacturing process related equipment .

Work with engineering, quality, and customer service departments to investigate issues related to automated manufacturing.

Interface with engineering on tooling/machinery for new projects and products associated with automated manufacturing.

Could potentially involve handling hazardous materials.

Required Experience :

5+ Years’ Experience in working as a Technician on Automated Machines in a Manufacturing environment.

Must have 20/40 correctable vision.

Must be capable of lifting 70 lbs. from floor to waist and have full use of all digits.

Capable of standing and/or sitting for more than 90 minutes straight .

Education :

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Some Technical education or certification as a Machinist or Journeyman Toolmaker.
