Job summary

A prominent solutions provider in Malaysia is looking for a candidate to manage daily sample activities in a refinery/laboratory environment. Responsibilities include sample collection and handling, compliance with health and safety regulations, and support for laboratory operations. Candidates should have a diploma in science or engineering, with 1-2 years of relevant experience. Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and software tools is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in laboratory or Oil & Gas operations.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ISO Management System.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP, MS Office, and sample documentation procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily collection, receipt, labelling, and delivery of product and process samples.
  • Handle and manage sample containers, sampling tools, and waste disposal according to procedures.
  • Support laboratory staff in sample tracking, registration, and data entry.
  • Ensure samples are handled, stored, and transported safely and in compliance with quality and HSSE requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of sample collection equipment and working areas.
  • Assist in stock management of bottles, cylinders, and consumables.
  • Participate in safety programs, toolbox meetings, and incident reporting.
  • Comply with all safety, security, and quality policies during operations.

Location: Refinery / Laboratory Environment

Contract Duration: 3 Years (Term Contract)

Reports To: Supervisor / Company Representative

Job Purpose

To carry out daily sample management activities including sample collection, handling, labelling, transportation, and documentation in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner according to company procedures, ISO standards, and HSSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform daily collection, receipt, labelling, and delivery of product and process samples.
  2. Handle and manage sample containers, sampling tools, and waste disposal according to procedures.
  3. Support laboratory staff in sample tracking, registration, and data entry.
  4. Ensure samples are handled, stored, and transported safely and in compliance with quality and HSSE requirements.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of sample collection equipment and working areas.
  6. Assist in stock management of bottles, cylinders, and consumables.
  7. Participate in safety programs, toolbox meetings, and incident reporting.
  8. Comply with all safety, security, and quality policies during operations.
