Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTG), ensuring the port equipment is available at optimal performance, cost‑effective and reliable.
Job Summary
Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTG), ensuring the port equipment is available at optimal performance, cost‑effective and reliable.
Key Duties
- Perform routine check, repair and preventive maintenance of port equipment.
- Troubleshoot any electrical, mechanical and hydraulic control systems of cranes or heavy lifting equipment.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in port equipment.
- Check quality of work performed by contractors or OEM.
- Reduce unplanned maintenance by identifying corrective work, problems and applying appropriate methods to identify causes and achieve satisfactory solutions.
- Check equipment condition and give proper feedback to the team leader/planner if any abnormalities are found during maintenance.
- Identify equipment reconditioning needs and highlight them to the team leader.
- Manage personal tool inventory.
- Manage preventive maintenance checklist, including suggestion of improvements on work procedures and equipment, application of engineering knowledge and practical skills, selection of appropriate techniques, procedures and methods, and use of scientific, technical or engineering principles.
- Perform other ad‑hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess a technical certificate SKM 3, DKM or diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Automotive / Electronic / Mechatronic or equivalent/relevant experience.
- At least 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in industrial automotive maintenance operations.
- Knowledge in PLC, drive, hydraulic system, diesel engine or mechanical component alignment is an advantage.
- Requires less supervision and performs well under pressure; thinks creatively and finds innovative ways to produce results.
