Job summary

A manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to ensure optimal equipment performance and compliance with ISO standards. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in engineering and at least 5 years of experience in mechanical and basic electrical systems. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all mechanical equipment in the factory is maintained and operated at an optimal level to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, conveyor systems, and processing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure that any mechanical breakdowns are repaired promptly to avoid production delays.
  • Install mechanical hardware, equipment, and components as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Ensure all machinery, bearings, belts, pumps, motors, and cooling systems are functioning efficiently.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and pipefitting work when required.
  • Perform TIG welding for repairs and fabrications, including piping, equipment, and structural components.
  • Install, maintain, and repair wire mesh conveyors and other conveyor systems in the production line.
  • Ensure all mechanical systems are in compliance with ISO 22000/FSSC 22000 standards.
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of all mechanical equipment and ensure they operate in a safe condition.
  • Ensure that the water supply to the food processing system is clean and safe for use according to industry standards.
  • Assist the Supervisor in training the Operations Team on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Work closely with the electrical and production teams to maintain smooth plant operations.
  • Keep records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage for audit and tracking purposes.
  • Suggest improvements to machine efficiency, energy usage, and reliability.
  • Perform any other tasks as directed by Senior Management/Superior.
