As a Technician III supporting Finishing Engineering team, you will be trusted to execute planned preventive maintenance in a timely manner and respond to any unplanned equipment downtime to ensure overall operations safety, product quality and machine performance are kept at highest standards at Johor. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Handle technical tasks related to planning, designing, and implementing maintenance programs to optimize facility and equipment availability and productivity
  • Assist in coordinating maintenance engineering work and liaise with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections, and the supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules
  • Review mechanical and electrical engineering specifications and assess new equipment designs for reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Make decisions within the scope of your tasks, requiring advanced technical skills and problem‑solving abilities
  • Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training
  • Meet individual job requirements and contribute to the overall compliance of the organization, committing to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements
What you’ll bring to Alcon:
  • Education: Diploma in Engineering (+1 year relevant experience)
  • Advanced Certificate: Certificate in Engineering (+3 years relevant experience)
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in a medical device environment is preferred
  • Skilled in electronic circuit troubleshooting, chiller system knowledge, power supply systems, and schematic reading & interpretation
