Job summary

WD is seeking a production support technician for the online support shift in our semiconductor manufacturing facility in Penang. The role focuses on ensuring equipment performance to meet quality, yield, cost, and cycle-time goals, while reporting status and issues to the EE Leader and Engineers.

Responsibilities include conducting final product tests, maintaining 6S standards, reducing machine downtime, and assisting engineers with project follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in semiconductor manufacturing with maintenance/troubleshooting of equipment.

Job Description

Responsibilities for supporting continuous production on an online support shift. Key duties include ensuring equipment performance to meet quality, yield, cost, and cycle time goals; reporting machine status and issues; conducting final product tests; maintaining 6S standards; assisting the tech team in reducing machine downtime and improving MTBA/MTBF; supporting engineers with project follow-ups; training operators on machine operation; and managing spare parts and tracking records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work shifts to provide support for the continuous production line.
• Ensure equipment is performing optimally to meet quality, yield, cost, utilization, and cycle time goals.
• Report online machine status and any issues to the EE Leader and Engineer promptly.
• Conduct final test product conversions effectively while maintaining high standards.
• Implement and uphold 6S practices to ensure a smooth and efficient production line.
• Assist the technical team in achieving targets related to machine downtime and utilization.
• Focus on improving Mean Time Between Adjustments (MTBA) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
• Support Engineer for project follow-up.
• Give training to operators about machine operation and to improve their working skills.
• Spare parts hand out, replacement, and make a good record for tracking.

Qualifications

• A diploma in Engineering will be preferred.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in semiconductor manufacturing, and familiar with maintenance and troubleshooting of Assy DA equipment.

PREFERRED

• Familiar with equipment and process, Familiar with machine troubleshooting and alarm handling
• Responsible for shift machine status checking and device change
• Good sense and follow up on quality issues and the project
• Experience with machine and tooling routine PM
• Have the ability for report generation, focus on machine alarm analysis, and troubleshooting

SKILLS

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Workable English.
• Familiar with office software: Microsoft Word/excel/ Power point
