Job Description

The Contamination Control Technician is responsible for ensuring a controlled cleanroom environment by executing contamination monitoring and control measures across cleanroom areas, tools, and processes. This includes conducting environmental surveys and buy‑offs, sampling equipment and process materials, handling cleanroom indirect materials, and enforcing cleanroom protocols. The technician plays a key role in maintaining contamination‑free operations that support production, quality, and regulatory standards.

These job duties and responsibilities may be altered by the company from time to time to meet the business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform cleanroom environmental surveys and area buy‑offs, including Filter Fan Unit surface velocity and leak scan, airborne particle counts and surface contamination sampling.
  • Conduct routine and event‑driven sampling of equipment, process tools, and materials to verify cleanliness and ensure compliance with contamination control standards.
  • Measure and analyze process samples to monitor for potential particulate or molecular contamination.
  • Execute routine buy‑off sampling activities to qualify cleanroom areas and equipment for operational use.
  • Enforce and support cleanroom protocol compliance, including gowning procedures, personnel behavior, and contamination prevention practices.
  • Handle and sample cleanroom indirect materials to ensure they meet contamination control requirements before entry into controlled environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, sampling results, and buy‑off records in accordance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support investigations, resolve contamination issues, and drive continuous improvement in contamination control practices.
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification in environmental science, cleanroom technology, or related field preferred.

PREFERRED:

  • 1–3 years in contamination control, cleanroom operations, or environmental monitoring in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or biotech industries.
  • Ability to work in cleanroom gowning for extended periods
  • Work on‑shift, weekends, or overtime may be required depending on production needs
  • Good communication skill and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14644 cleanroom standards and contamination control practices
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following protocols
