Job Title: Technical Project Manager (IT Infrastructure – Data Center)

Location: Malaysia

Department: IT Infrastructure / Data Center

Reports To: Head of IT / Data Center Operations Director

Position Overview

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager with strong experience in IT infrastructure and data center environments to lead and deliver critical IT projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network, server, and storage systems, combined with excellent project coordination skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English, Mandarin / Malay with regional teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver end-to-end IT infrastructure projects across data center environments (deployment, migration, upgrades, system integration).
  • Plan project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets in collaboration with technical and business teams.
  • Oversee the implementation of network systems, virtualization platforms, storage, backup, and security solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams, vendors, and clients to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Lead change management, testing, and commissioning of IT systems in production environments.
  • Ensure compliance with data center operational standards, cybersecurity, and SLA requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, status updates, and management reports.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Support the handover to operations and ensure smooth transition to BAU (Business-as-Usual).
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience managing IT infrastructure projects, preferably within data center or mission‑critical environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of:
    • Networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, routing, switching)
    • Servers and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, Linux, Windows)
    • Storage & backup solutions
    • Data center standards and best practices
  • Experience in vendor management and working with regional teams.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and project methodologies (Agile/ Waterfall).
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in English, Mandarin /Malay.
Preferred Attributes
  • Hands‑on technical background (system/network administration or solution delivery).
  • Experience supporting data center clients, colocation environments, or managed service providers (MSP).
  • Strong documentation, coordination, and time management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multicultural, fast‑paced work environment.
