Job summary

Flex seeks a skilled Process/Manufacturing Engineer to bridge design engineering with high-volume production. You will evaluate product designs, recommend efficiency and quality improvements, and collaborate to craft scalable, cost-effective manufacturing processes.

This role also involves prototype builds, technology transfer, and leading teams to resolve build challenges, while driving continuous improvement and安全 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 4 years of process/manufacturing engineering experience.
• Hands-on with PCBA, SMT, Wave soldering and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Bridge between innovation engineering teams and high-volume production groups.
• Evaluate designs and provide data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate to design cost-effective, scalable manufacturing processes.
• Partner with design engineers for prototype and low-volume builds and tech transfer.
• Lead quick-reaction engineering teams to troubleshoot during builds.
• Define and sustain robust process parameters for high quality manufacturing.
• Conduct root cause analyses and drive continuous improvements.
• Apply SPC and analytics to monitor performance and yield.

Responsibilities

• Be the bridge between our innovation engineering teams and high-volume production groups, turning creative concepts into manufacturable solutions.
• Evaluate product designs and provide data-driven recommendations to boost process efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design innovative, cost-effective, and scalable manufacturing processes.
• Partner with design engineers to develop prototype and low-volume build processes, ensuring smooth technology transfer.
• Lead quick-reaction engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve challenges during product builds.
• Define, implement, and sustain robust and repeatable process parameters for high-quality manufacturing.
• Conduct root cause analyses and drive continuous improvement across production lines.
• Apply statistical process control (SPC) and analytical tools to monitor and optimize performance and yield.
• Champion safety, productivity, and throughput enhancements, creating a culture of operational excellence.
• Innovate and refine manufacturing techniques to expand Flex’s in-house capabilities and improve yield outcomes.
• Develop and maintain clear process documentation and training materials.
• Support technology transfers by delivering hands-on training to production personnel.
• Participate in PFMEA and DFMEA to ensure design and process reliability from concept to completion.

What You Bring to the Team

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in process or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of PCBA, SMT, Wave Soldering, and Assembly processes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in coordinating with multi stake-holders to ensure smooth project transfer from R&D, Dongguan factory to Penang site.
