Job summary

Develop and conduct Training courses, exams, aircraft structured practical training and assessment of aircraft task to support the Company, Industry, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia CAAM) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other Regulatory requirements.

Key Accountability

Refuel Officer is accountable for: -

  • Develop and update approved training courses in accordance with EASA, CAAM, JPK, and internal company standards to support both internal operational needs and external customer training requirements.
  • Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions, ensuring effective delivery and adherence to regulatory standards under CAAM Part 147, EASA Part 147, and JPK training frameworks.
  • Perform trainee assessments and evaluations, including practical tasks, oral questioning, and portfolio reviews, ensuring trainee competence as required under CAAM/EASA-approved syllabi and JPK’s National Occupational Skills Standards (NOSS).
  • Prepare, review, and update examination questions for knowledge-based assessments, ensuring materials meet compliance requirements under CAAM, EASA, and JPK regulatory bodies.
  • Invigilate and mark examinations, ensuring proper exam conduct, accurate result recording, and compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop, review, and maintain training materials, manuals, and teaching aids to ensure instructional effectiveness and ongoing compliance with current regulatory standards and industry practices.
  • Participate in internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews relating to CAAM Part 147, EASA Part 147, and JPK program accreditation, including implementing corrective or preventive actions when required.
  • Support JPK program implementation, including the coordination and documentation of On-the-Job Training (OJT), logbook verification, trainee guidance, and preparation for JPK assessments (e.g., PTP, PPL, PP-PPD roles where applicable).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on course effectiveness, training needs, facility and equipment upgrades, and trainee performance data for curriculum enhancement.
Qualification & Working Experience
  • Holds a valid CAAM Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) with the appropriate type approvals and has a minimum of 5 years of practical aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 3 years exercising license privileges.
  • Eligible to instruct CAAM Part 147 type training, basic training, and JPK program.

OR

  • Holds a valid CAAM AML (without type rating), with at least 3 years of relevant practical maintenance experience.
  • Eligible to instruct CAAM Part 147 basic training common modules and JPK program.

OR

  • Holds a recognized engineering degree in a relevant field (e.g., aviation, aeronautical, mechanical, electrical). Practical maintenance experience is an added advantage but not mandatory.
  • Eligible to instruct JPK program only, in accordance with JPK instructor criteria.
