ROLE OVERVIEW

This is not a traditional kitchen-based role. We are seeking a creative and dynamic Technical Chef (Pastry Chef background) to lead recipe development using our premium dairy products and to act on a key role in our market expansion efforts. Your creations and expertise will not only delight customers but also drive our market strategy. Below are some top-line features of the role:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product & Recipe Innovation

Lead the development, standardization, and costing of innovative recipes for pastry, desserts and baked goods that showcase the brand’s products and align with market trends.

Brand Representation & Demos

Act as the technical expert for the brand by professionally conducting live product demonstrations, tastings, technical support and training sessions for customers, sub-distributors/partners, and at trade events.

Recipe & Commercial Development

Lead the creation and standardization of innovative savory/sweet & beverages recipes that strategically showcase the applications and quality of the European dairy brand's products.
Develop costing models and pricing strategies for these recipes, providing customers with clear business cases for adoption.

Marketing & Sales Collaboration

Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to support road shows, exhibitions and customer visits, providing expert knowledge to strengthen brand presence.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure the highest standards of product quality, consistency, and visual presentation, while adhering strictly to all food safety and hygiene protocols.

Demo Kitchen Management & Operational Excellence

Take primary responsibility of managing day-to-day operation and maintenance of in-house demonstration kitchen.
Manage the demo kitchen's inventory, including all ingredients, product samples, and supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels for scheduled activities and minimizing waste.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef
  • Experience in high-end establishments (hotels, boutique patisseries, restaurants)
  • Fluent in English & Malay; Chinese is an advantage
  • Formal pastry training with basic cooking/catering knowledge; beverage knowledge is a plus
  • Creative, innovative, and cost-conscious
  • Strong managerial, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-oriented, positive, and able to work independently or in a team
  • Willing to travel for demos, events, and customer visits
