Role Summary

We are looking for a Technical Business Development Executive with an engineering background who can bridge technical solutions and commercial opportunities. This role requires the ability to understand engineering concepts, communicate with clients effectively, prepare technical proposals, and support grant submissions for tech-driven projects (IoT, Smart City, Software, Systems Integration, etc.).

You will work closely with the Sales, R&D/Systems, Marketing, and Project teams to secure new business, develop proposals, and drive growth in digital and engineering-related solutions.

Business Development & Sales
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across engineering, digital solutions, and system integration domains.
  • Conduct client needs analysis and propose suitable solutions together with the technical team.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, RFP/RFQ responses, scope of work, and tender submissions.
  • Lead product presentations, demonstrations, and solution pitches.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and strategic partnerships.
Technical & Engineering Support
  • Understand engineering concepts sufficiently to translate technical information for clients.
  • Work with technical teams to define solution architecture, system components, and implementation plans.
  • Assist with technical documentation, product sheets, and solution briefs.
Grant & Proposal Writing
  • Prepare, compile, and submit grant proposals for digital, IoT, R&D, or technology development projects (e.g., MDV, Cradle, MDEC, state-level grants).
  • Ensure all submissions are accurate, well-structured, and compliant with funding requirements.
  • Collect technical data, financial projections, project workplans, and KPIs for submission.
Market & Industry Research
  • Study industry trends, competitor products, and government initiatives.
  • Identify new opportunities in engineering-led solutions, smart city, automation, and digital transformation.
Internal Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with the R&D/Engineering, Project, Design, and Marketing teams for seamless execution.
  • Ensure proper handover from BD to Project teams after securing deals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields).
  • 1–3 years in Business Development, Technical Sales, or Engineering roles
  • Strong technical understanding, especially in IoT, software development, systems integration, or smart technologies (training provided).
  • Excellent communication skills – able to simplify technical terms for non-technical clients.
  • Experience preparing proposals, tenders, or grant submissions is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking, business acumen, and research ability.
  • Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and present to clients confidently.
  • Possess own transport and willing to travel occasionally.
