Job description
Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the delivery of the agreed curriculum through thorough preparation and planning in accordance with schemes of learning.
  • To participate in the creation, development and evaluation of resources to effectively implement the curriculum and meet faculty deadlines.
  • To keep accurate and up to date records of student assessments and progress in the agreed format. Monitoring student progress and seeking assistance from faculty leaders/year leaders as required. To attend all relevant meetings and parent conferences as scheduled.
  • To ensure student safety by being punctual to class, taking registers, covering lessons as assigned and adhering to the published duty rota.
  • To promote a culture where diversity is encouraged and where students learn to respect varied perspectives and ways of thinking.
  • To plan and teach challenging, inspiring and enjoyable lessons that meet the academic and language needs of all students in the class.
  • To set high expectations for behaviour and learning by establishing and maintaining a purposeful learning environment.
  • To identify individual learning needs in students and work with other relevant staff to support these as required.
  • To provide opportunities for students to practise the skills of questioning, inquiry and reflection.
  • To provide constructive oral and/or written feedback to students in a timely manner.
