Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the delivery of the agreed curriculum through thorough preparation and planning in accordance with schemes of learning.
- To participate in the creation, development and evaluation of resources to effectively implement the curriculum and meet faculty deadlines.
- To keep accurate and up to date records of student assessments and progress in the agreed format. Monitoring student progress and seeking assistance from faculty leaders/year leaders as required. To attend all relevant meetings and parent conferences as scheduled.
- To ensure student safety by being punctual to class, taking registers, covering lessons as assigned and adhering to the published duty rota.
- To promote a culture where diversity is encouraged and where students learn to respect varied perspectives and ways of thinking.
- To plan and teach challenging, inspiring and enjoyable lessons that meet the academic and language needs of all students in the class.
- To set high expectations for behaviour and learning by establishing and maintaining a purposeful learning environment.
- To identify individual learning needs in students and work with other relevant staff to support these as required.
- To provide opportunities for students to practise the skills of questioning, inquiry and reflection.
- To provide constructive oral and/or written feedback to students in a timely manner.

- To contribute to the boarding school programme according to the published rota.
- To contribute to the school’s enrichment programmes on Friday afternoons, and after school ECAs as per published rotas and schedules.
- To cover for absent colleagues as required.
- To attend school events as required and support non-compulsory school events when possible - contribution to wider school life.
- To lead / support school trips and activities.
- To contribute to team/whole school discussions and development activities.
- To invigilate internal and external exams as required.
- To keep up to date with, and respond to, developments in the subject area, teaching practice and methodology.
- To communicate with parents on student progress through the reporting procedures and other discussions that may arise.
- To contribute to school marketing activities such as open days when needed.
