Syarikat Ong Sdn Bhd is seeking a Tax Assistant Manager to oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate work, timely delivery and compliance with tax regulations. The role involves reviewing tax computations, returns, and associated schedules, plus providing strategic tax advice and planning opportunities.

The position requires coordination of tax audits, mentoring of staff, and staying updated on tax laws and rulings to safeguard client interests and help drive firm growth.

Qualifications

• Must possess relevant accounting/tax qualifications and experience as an Assistant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee an assigned portfolio of tax clients, ensuring accurate work, timely completion and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Review tax computations, income tax returns, supporting schedules, and other tax-related deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Advise clients on tax matters, conduct technical research and identify tax planning opportunities and potential risks.
• Coordinate tax audits, investigations and correspondence with IRBM and other relevant authorities.
• Allocate assignments, establish review milestones and monitor deadlines, budgets, work in progress, billing and collections.
• Provide guidance, coaching and training to team members to enhance their technical competencies and professional development.
• Keep abreast of relevant tax legislation, public rulings and guidance, and assess their impact on clients and the firm’s services.
• Identify opportunities to improve work quality, operational efficiency and service delivery through effective procedures and digital tools.
• Maintain client relationships, identify additional service opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to support business growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time.
