Job summary

AMD is seeking a System Test Engineering Manager for Datacenter Accelerated Computing products in Penang, Malaysia. You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver AI/ML/HPC test solutions, focusing on manufacturing test automation, validation, and program management to enable AMD’s leading datacenter GPUs.

You will guide test content development in Python, define test strategies, and drive improvements in yield and cost while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across departments.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred).
• Experience with hardware and software design and implementation.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Familiar with Linux validation and computer hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop test strategy for new product features including test fixtures, test equipment and diagnostic software.
• Review and provide feedback for DFT in early design stages.
• Debug complex hardware and software issues during build phases.
• Define qualification, maintenance, and release procedures for test solutions in manufacturing.
• Contribute to automated diagnostic generation and validation infrastructure.
• Define manufacturing hardware test solutions for Board and System product segments.
• Support the development of test content and solutions in Python.
• Investigate and introduce new manufacturing test technology to improve production efficiency.
• Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce cost and improve yield.
• Lead development and implementation, mentoring junior engineers, and influencing others as a technical leader.

THE ROLE:

The Product Development Group is looking for a System Test Engineering Manager focused on our Datacenter Accelerated Computing products. We are looking for a dynamic and energetic leader to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the Product Development Group, you will work in cross-functional teams to deliver industry leading products forArtificial Intelligence(AI),Machine Learning (ML),and High-Performance Computing(HPC)applications.Specifically, this role is focused on manufacturing test solutions and automation, validation, and cross-functional program managementtohelp our manufacturingpartners’deliverAMD’s leading datacenter GPUs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop test strategy for new product features including identification, specification, design and qualification of test fixtures, test equipment and diagnostic software.
• Review and provide feedback for DFT in the early design stages.
• Debug complex hardware and software issues during build phases.
• Define qualification, maintenance, and release procedures for test solutions used in manufacturing of data center products
• Contribute to automated diagnostic generation and validation infrastructure.
• Define manufacturing hardware test solutions that translate into methodologies and processes applicable across Board and System product segments.
• Support the development of test content and solutions in Python.
• Investigate and introduce new manufacturing test technology and methodology to improve production efficiency.
• Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce cost, improve yield and resolve quality issues.
• Solves complex, novel and non-recurring problems; initiates significant changes to existing processes/ methods and leads development and implementation.
• Contribute to our automated Diag generation and validation infrastructure.
• Review and provide feedback for DFT in the early design stages.
• May provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers.
• Influences others as a technical leader.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working with manufacturing test programs at platform level.
• Strong experience with post-silicon validation experience in Board or System products.
• Background with Python programming and bash scripting.
• Strong experience working with manufacturing test solutions in data centers
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
• Strong experience with developing tests, patterns/vectors, timing, and diagnostics on Automated Test Equipment.
• Debug experience in hardware, software, device, and/or manufacturing domains.
• Experience with a scripting language (Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar).
• Experience with Linux or Unix Operating Systems.
• Experience in XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban as Scrum Master or Product Owner.
• Experience with revision control (GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS or similar).
• Experience with C++, Java, C, or C#.
• Solid Knowledge of IPMI, PCIE, BMC, and Thermal Solutions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
