Job summary

A leading agricultural firm in Putrajaya is seeking a Sustainability Manager to develop and implement sustainability strategies. The role includes conducting training on environmental policies and coordinating initiatives across business units. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Environmental Science and at least 5 years of experience in sustainability, preferably within the oil palm industry. Strong data analysis and communication skills are essential for this position.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Act as a change agent to nurture responsible business and sustainability culture helping to engineer, manage and implement the Group’s sustainability, sustainability vision, mission, strategy and transformation agenda.
• Develop, implement and review Policies as well as Sustainability Reporting Frameworks and Standards that support the Group’s Environmental objectives and strategies.
• Conduct internal training programs on matters related environmental issues and policies.
• Coordinate with all operating units to strive towards embedding environmental sustainability in organizational culture and in business operations.
• Liaise closely with relevant departments in the compilation and verification of environmental data, and to present the info and findings in the Sustainability Report.
• Communicate sustainability initiatives or info to all employees to increase awareness and to strive towards mindset alignment.
• Research current Sustainability issues to stay abreast and be cognizant of new developments in sustainability-related policies, best practices and technology related to the environment.
• Establish a strong network and coordinate discussions with sustainability practitioners, professionals, consultants, government agencies and regulatory bodies, and parties on Sustainability matters, especially related to the environment

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of related working experience in Sustainability, especially in the oil palm industry,
• Preferably with a manufacturing background and experience in supply chain management.
• Knowledge of sustainability management is a prerequisite
• Ability to plan, implement and deliver Sustainability Environmental Programs like climate change initiatives etc.
• Ability to analyse data and information and present findings in a concise manner
• Self-starter, confident and able to engage well with people
• Excellent planning, organising, coordination and presentation skills
• Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (verbal & written)
• Good command of English and possesses good report-writing skills
• A good understanding of SBTi and the GHG Protocol is a plus point
