Job Description

Job Summary: The Sustainability Lead will be responsible for driving sustainability initiatives across the organization by working closely with various departments to implement green practices and reduce environmental impact. This role requires collaboration with cross‑functional teams to develop and execute strategies aimed at enhancing corporate social responsibility efforts in line with business objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the GCRES Sustainability Lead in the development and implementation of policies and practices to reduce utility consumption and costs, as well as to cut emissions and other environmental impacts, including workplace health and safety at the country level.
  • Responsible for other related sustainability agendas arising from emerging legislation or the implementation of GCRES best practices in corporate social responsibility, including but not limited to the development of green leases, sustainable procurement, and building/capital works practices.
  • Responsible for implementing an environmental data repository at the country level, aligned with Group processes to collect, verify, analyze, and report data.
  • Consolidate and analyze data at the country level for reporting to the Group Corporate Real Estate Services (GCRES) Sustainability Lead, contributing to the Annual Sustainability Report.
  • Collaborate with the GCRES Sustainability Lead and various teams within the country CRES functions to ensure operational activities related to utilities, paper, and waste are managed effectively to meet UOB Group targets.
  • Responsible for supporting and executing the GCRES functional roadmap to achieve the organization’s overall sustainability targets.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines on Occupational Health and Safety and Sustainability to improve health and safety performance and reduce environmental impacts.
  • Monitor local legislation and track emerging technical management trends.
Requirements
  • Have expertise in environmental management systems, waste management, sustainable supply chains, external partnerships, employee engagement, as well as sustainability and CDP reporting.
  • Experience in implementing Energy Saving Measures/Energy Conservation Measures/Renewable Energy. Experience in conducting Energy Audit and developing Energy Management System (EnMS).
  • Possess sound working knowledge of the BCA Green Mark scheme and other applicable international and local green building and wellness standards.
  • A Registered Energy Manager by ST and a certified Green Building Facilitator is an added advantage.
  • Strong presentation skills to communicate technical insights clearly.
  • Stakeholder engagement - abilities to align energy goals with business strategy.
  • Report writing and documentation skills for regulatory submissions.
  • Team leadership and facilitation skills to coordinate cross‑functional efforts.
