Lam Research in Kulim, Kedah Darul Aman, Malaysia, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Sustaining Supervisor to lead a multidisciplinary team focused on sustaining manufacturing processes, test systems, and yield improvements. The impact you’ll make

Manages the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Manufacturing Engineering Sustaining activities to support product quality, manufacturability, reliability, cost effectiveness, and operational excellence. Leads a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians responsible for sustaining manufacturing processes, test systems, product support, engineering changes, yield improvement, and factory issue resolution. Ensures effective execution of sustaining programs while developing team capability and supporting organizational growth and strategic objectives.

What you’ll do
  • Lead and manage the Manufacturing Engineering Sustaining team, including Shift Manufacturing Engineers and Test Technicians.
  • Lead the sustaining engineering strategies to support manufacturing operations, product quality, and factory performance.
  • Establish team priorities, resource planning, and execution plans to meet business objectives and customer commitments.
  • Own product lifecycle sustainment activities, including engineering change implementation, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee manufacturing test strategy, test fixture design and validation, software maintenance, and production test readiness.
  • Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics including First Pass Yield (FPY), cycle time, productivity, reliability, and cost of quality.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for factory non‑conformances, customer escalations, and field issues.
  • Support High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) product transfers, capacity expansion, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Lead process optimization, automation, standardization, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation, test procedures, specifications, work instructions, and process controls are maintained and continually improved.
  • Evaluate and recommend manufacturing equipment, test systems, fixtures, and process improvements to support business growth.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Serve as the primary technical and operational escalation point for Manufacturing Engineering Sustaining activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, regulatory, and company requirements.
Who we’re looking for

We're looking for a highly driven Manufacturing Engineering Sustaining Supervisor who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about operational excellence. You are a hands‑on leader with strong technical depth and proven people leadership skills, capable of managing a diverse engineering organization while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

You excel at problem solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and strategic execution. You can effectively balance day‑to‑day factory support with long‑term capability development, enabling sustainable growth, improved quality, and operational efficiency.

Preferred qualifications
  • BS / MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronis, any relevent Engineering courses.
  • A degree or equivalent with 6+ years of related experience as a SME and people manager.
  • Technical writing skills to communicate and document designs and procedures.
  • Verbal communication skills to discuss technical issues with Suppliers, Supplier Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, and Design Engineering.
  • Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal technical guidance.
  • WFE knowledge, clean tool, Dry/Wet Dep & Etch is an added advantages.
