Job Description

This role within the Microchip Component Operations team (our Global Supply Chain) will provide the successful candidate with valuable experience and growth potential. Reporting to the Materials Manager, the objective of our Supply Chain Team is to establish, maintain and improve supply continuity, quality and cost as it relates to products and services. (Key Measurements: Inventory, On‑time delivery, Quality & Cost)

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers
• Review PO variances to the plan; resolve past‑due and aged unconfirmed orders with the supply base
• Participate in maximizing the procurement team’s changes, part parameters; maintain quote tables, supplier database information, analyze error reports, and manage part number/supplier code information
• Recommend cost‑saving proposals, including alternative sourcing, with team approval
• Work closely with Engineers and Strategic Sourcing Managers to support procurement and vendor negotiations on lead‑time and cost
• Process Returns to Vendor (RTV) for procured products and drive continual improvement with the Supplier Quality team
• Manage and maintain item master/organization attributes for assigned products
• Resolve accounts payable/receivable discrepancies for any assigned items
• Resolve delivery/receiving discrepancies for any assigned items
• Stay current on economic, industrial and other trends that affect market and prices
• Support ERP integration activities and assist the Project Manager with implementations
• Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to represent Component Ops in the early stages of the development process
