Job summary

A building materials company located in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a candidate for a logistics role. The successful applicant will assist in preparing import and export documentation, liaise with customers for timely shipments, and participate in supply planning decisions. Ideal candidates should have a diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field and be proficient in business software. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing import and export documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Liaise with customers to organize shipments; help ensure shipments are on time.
  • Assist in sourcing, evaluating and maintaining a portfolio of vendors.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure factory purchases are processed properly.
  • Liaise with vendors for price comparisons for procurement decisions.
  • Participate in supply planning decisions with other departments.
  • Assist in preparing relevant monthly management reports.
  • Support local Head of Supply Chain in improvement projects.
  • Ensure relevant government licenses and approvals are renewed on time.

  • Liaise with customers to organize shipments; help ensure shipments are on time and meet delivery requirements.
  • Assist in sourcing, evaluating and maintaining a portfolio of vendors and forwarders.
  • Prepare purchase orders and help ensure factory purchases are processed in accordance with proper procedures.
  • Liaise with vendors for price comparisons to advise management on procurement decisions.
  • Participate in supply planning decisions together with representatives from other departments.
  • Assist in preparing relevant monthly management reports.
  • Support local Head of Supply Chain in improvement projects.
  • Ensure relevant government licenses and approvals (e.g. MITI export approval) are renewed on time.
Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in standard business office software (MS Office).
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Agile and highly trainable.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is a plus).
Education and Experience

Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management/Business/Logistics Management or related field.
