Overview
Role Summary: This role plays a critical role in bringing new products from concept to full-scale production. Operating in a small, agile environment, this role owns end-to-end supply chain execution; translating early designs into executable sourcing and purchasing plans, managing suppliers, and ensuring launch readiness. Working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing partners, and internal teams, the analyst ensures materials are sourced, procured, delivered, and cost-controlled to meet development milestones and production timelines.
Responsibilities
- New Product Introduction Supply Chain Execution
- Lead supply chain readiness for new product introductions, supporting early engineering builds, design validation phases, production validation stages, and transition into full mass production.
- Translate product designs and bills of materials into executable sourcing and purchasing plans.
- Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and production ramp activities.
- Procurement and Purchasing Management
- Own procurement activities for new and existing products, including supplier sourcing, quotation requests, price negotiation, and purchase order issuance.
- Manage procurement of new components, materials, tooling, and services required for product development and production.
- Track supplier commitments, delivery schedules, and order fulfillment to meet project milestones.
- Supplier and Partner Management
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers suitable for low-volume, high-mix, and new product environments.
- Work directly with suppliers, contract manufacturers, assembly and test partners, and logistics providers.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
- Cost, Change, and Risk Management
- Track material costs and support cost control and cost reduction initiatives.
- Assess the supply chain impact of engineering and design changes on cost, lead time, and inventory.
- Identify supply risks such as long lead times, limited supplier capacity, or single-source dependencies, and drive mitigation actions.
- Inventory, Logistics, and Operational Support
- Manage inventory levels to support development builds and production without excess or obsolete stock.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including shipping, customs documentation, and delivery scheduling when required.
- Support stock reconciliation, supplier invoicing alignment, and basic supply chain documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting
- Serve as the primary supply chain and procurement contact for new product programs.
- Work closely with engineering, finance, quality, and operations teams to align timelines and priorities.
- Maintain clear reports on procurement status, material readiness, supplier risks, and costs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, materials planning, or operations roles.
- Hands-on experience supporting new product introductions in a lean or small-team environment.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to execute independently.
- Solid understanding of sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and inventory control.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements.
- Clear communication skills and comfort working directly with suppliers.
- Experience in semiconductor, electronics, or advanced manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with contract manufacturing and outsourced assembly and testing partners.
- Experience working in startup or fast-growing organizations.
- Professional supply chain or procurement certification is a plus.
