JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead Test Engineer (Test Lab Supervisor) will lead a small test engineering team in a dedicated lab space. This team will conduct factory witness tests of production units and host customer visits for that test. The team will also work with product development teams to conduct design verification tests for new product designs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead customers facing factory witness test (FWT) events, assist sales and application engineers hosting customer attendance at FWT events. Schedule lab availability. Coordinate with global FWT lab locations.
  • Creation of Design Verification Test (DVT) plans for new liquid cooling products, supporting multiple global new product development teams.
  • Plan and oversee performance testing then utilize the results to validate designs, system controls, and analytical performance models.
  • Participate in design and implementation of lab test facility upgrades and expansions, including hiring and training of test engineers & technicians.
  • Collaboration across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production and offering teams. Work with these teams for design reviews, DVT’s, technology R&D, and customer witness tests.
  • Performs a variety of engineering calculations using traditional engineering methods to verify design requirements, which may include stress calculations, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
  • Developing solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists - the use of ingenuity and creativity is regularly required.
  • Occasional use of CFD/FEA and CAD software.
  • Work with software team to develop and verify system controls.
  • Implement test activities to solve field issues, support service department.
  • Component verification testing for design changes and alternate suppliers.
  • Create and validate analytical performance models.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or directly related degree.
  • 5+ years of career experience in new product development (NPDI) and/or testing as an individual contributor.
  • Understand electrical schematic and pneumatic drawings (P&ID).
  • Understanding thermodynamics, fluid mechanics & HVAC system.
  • Ability to work and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team.
  • Excellent project management skills and communication skills.
  • Experience leading teams and managing physical test facility and processes.
  • Experience writing performance test requests, supporting lab expansion projects.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition, measurement systems, calibration processes.
