Job summary
A leading infrastructure and maintenance firm in Malaysia is seeking a qualified Safety & Health Supervisor to ensure compliance with safety policies across all site activities. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and be responsible for conducting inspections, investigations, and training. Responsibilities
- Execute and enforce UEM Edgenta PROPEL’s Safety & Health policy, procedures, and operating standards across all site activities.
- Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions and practices, ensuring compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA Regulations, and ISO standards (OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
- Investigate minor incidents, near misses, and first aid cases; assist in major accident investigations; and prepare reports in line with statutory and company requirements.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and HSE training programs to enhance safety awareness among staff and contractors.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, statutory forms (e.g., JKJ 103), and compile monthly HSE reports, safety observations, and audit findings via the Beakon Application.
- Monitor subcontractors’ compliance with site safety standards, enforcing non-tolerance towards unsafe acts or deviations from SOPs and safety procedures.
- Promote proactive safety culture through regular engagement, observation, and feedback, supporting initiatives that drive continual improvement in HSE performance.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ relevant experience in infrastructure or highway maintenance.
- Registered Safety & Health Supervisor (Yellow Book) with DOSH (JKKP).
- Familiar with OSHA 1994, FMA (Building Operations and Works of Engineering Construction) Regulations 1986, and relevant ISO standards.
